Julie Liberman’s primary practice area is civil litigation, with an emphasis on litigation of real estate, business transactional and employment law matters.

Ms. Liberman began her legal career as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Labor, Solicitor’s Office in Atlanta, Georgia, where she litigated a wide range of employment law matters brought by the Secretary of Labor to enforce federal labor laws, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). Ms. Liberman also prosecuted charges of employment discrimination on behalf of the Secretary of Labor, and defended the Secretary of Labor on EEO charges brought by Department employees. Ms. Liberman has also previously practiced real estate litigation with a small plaintiff’s firm in Atlanta, Georgia, where she focused on mortgage fraud litigation and foreclosure issues, and she has worked as a staff attorney at the Georgia Court of Appeals.

Ms. Liberman received her Bachelor of Arts in English degree, cum laude, from Union College in Schenectady, New York, her Master’s degree in English language and literature, with distinction, from the University of Warwick, England, and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Georgia State University.

Ms. Liberman lives in Decatur with her husband Eric and their two children.
